MFUGE2015

The youth group returned from MFUGE Friday evening. Despite the extreme heat and the tragic shooting, they spent time serving the Charleston community along with about 600 others. Our youth and adult volunteers served in six different ministry tracks which included Special Needs at the different community centers, painting construction and yard work, beach evangelism, and three separate children’s ministry tracks. On Thursday they were unable to visit the work sites due the the unfortunate shooting in downtown Charleston, so they spent the morning in worship and Bible study. After picnics on campus with their ministry track groups there were games and a special prayer service for the city. Please join us as we continue to pray for the city of Charleston. Please also pray that the seeds we planted this week will be used to reach that community. There are six more FUGE weeks this summer at that site.

VBS15-01VBS15-56 VBS15-43

Once again this year, VBS this week was a huge success! We had 38 kids register, and our nightly attendance reached 33.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in this week and made our VBS a great success. It takes a lot of folks working hard to make VBS happen – and we did not disappoint. We had a total of 38 children enroll, and actual attendance was 33 on Monday and 21 on Wednesday. A special thanks to our teachers who had the most important job, and to the folks who stepped up to lead a major segment of the VBS program – crafts, recreation, snacks and cookout, and Family Night. Thanks also to our youth who are always willing to do what is asked of them.
